THE LOVE OF GOD
READ: I John 4:7-10
“. . . God is love.”
I John 4:8
To describe the love of God would be one of the most difficult
tasks in the world. It is something that a worldly mind will
reject. It is something that a spiritual mind cannot comprehend.
Many people ask this question: “Why would God love someone like me?
If God knew all the things I’ve done then He wouldn’t love me.” The
amazing thing is that He does love us, in spite of the fact that He
knows everything about us. No matter what someone has said, done,
or thought, God loved them to death, literally. Before mankind was
ever doomed at the fall of Adam and Eve, the Lamb of God had been
slain before the foundation of the world. Jesus has known
throughout all eternity that to redeem man it would involve His
death at the cross. He even said Himself that He could have prayed
to the Father for twelve legions of angels to deliver Him, but He
suffered and died for you and me.
Dear friend, whatever you do today, remember that you are
surrounded by the love of God. Whenever you feel lonely or upset,
remind yourself of just how much God cares about you. Whatever you
do for others, showing God’s love should be your motivation. In
your quiet time today, think of how much God loves you, then go
show it to someone else.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment
made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by
trade,
To write the love of God above, Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky
to sky.
THE LUST OF ADAM AND EVE ENDED WITH SIN.
THE LOVE OF GOD BEGINS WITH A SAVIOUR.
